Current Members
Andrea Mazza (Senior Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree from Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) in 2011 and 2015, respectively. After a brief period at the Italian TSO as Electrical Engineer, he joined POLITO as Assistant Professor, being promoted in 2024 as Associate Professor of power and energy systems.
Since 2023, he is the Principal Investigator of the EXTRASTRONG project and Executive Coordinator of Ensiel National Energy Transition Real-Time Lab (ENET-RTlab). Chair of the Italian IEEE Chapter on Education and expert in teaching methods for engineering.
Gianfranco Chicco received the Ph.D. degree in electrotechnics engineering from POLITO. He is a Full Professor of electrical energy systems. His research topics include power system analysis, distribution system optimization, electrical load management, multi‑energy systems, data analytics, and power quality.
Haoke Wu received the Ph.D. degree from Politecnico di Torino in 2025. He is currently a Postdoc with the Department of Energy. His research interests include electricity markets, smart grids, and active distribution networks.
Luigi Calcara received the Master Ing and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Sapienza University of Rome in 2015 and 2020. Since 2021 he has been a Researcher with Sapienza. Active member of IEC TC 10 “Fluids for Electrotechnical Applications” since 2016.
Massimo Pompili received the Dr.-Ing. and Ph.D. degrees from Sapienza University of Rome in 1981 and 1985. He is currently Full Professor of HV power systems. His main research interests include electrical technology with reference to dielectric fluids and characterization of new materials for power components.
Paolo Emilio Roccato received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Politecnico di Torino in 2005 and 2009. Since 2008 he has been with INRiM, working on high-voltage and high-power measurements, reference standards, and testing/calibration.
Stefano Emilio Caria received the Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from POLITO in 2025. Since 2020, he has been with INRiM, working on high-voltage and high-power measurements.Currently he is a technologist at INRIM.
